A note about the shared orchard from Jim:
Our orchard group was started two years ago. It was formed in an ad hoc way. One of the members wrote a small grant to buy fruit trees for the garden. When the grant was awarded, a call went out to form a group to plant them. We now have about 11 members. Our basic goal is to utilize space that's not suitable for gardening by planting fruit trees there. At present we have approximately 17 tree's, mostly Apple, some Plum along the far western slope of the garden. Members of the group take care of and plant trees.
